| Along Lake Tahoe's famous Flume Trail |
DESCRIPTION
Words cannot describe the beauty of Lake Tahoe's famous Flume Trail. We start
our run from Spooner Lake, travelling up North Canyon and down to Marlette Lake.
A trip around the lake brings you to the start of the Flume Trail. This is usually one of
our longer runs of the summer - a 30K (18 miles) out-and-back. See
Spooner Lake for information on shorter runs starting from the same point.
|
| |
Dogs strictly on leash around Spooner Lake and the parking area. They're
OK on North Canyon and Marlette Lake but don't even consider bringing Rover into
the bicycle traffic on Flume Trail.
|
| |
There are restrooms at Spooner Lake State Park, 2 pit toilets up North Canyon, and one at Marlette Lake..
|
| |
There is currently a $5.00 per vehicle park entry fee
|
 |
DIRECTIONS
Take US HWY 50 to Spooner Summit and turn North onto SR 28. The
entrance to the park is on your right, 1/2 mile down 28. We generally
take the first right after the park entrance. Do not turn towards the bike/ski rental
cabin (off to the right) but instead, turn left and park on the south side of the bathrooms.
We usually carpool from Round Hill Safeway.
